ATL have recently invested circa £1 million, with the support of Scottish Enterprise, in the latest thermal spray booth technology, upgrading our previous multicoat system to the brand-new Oerlikon Metco Surface Two™.
ATL took the delivery of the Surface Two™ in July 2025 with it now being commissioned in October 2025. Interestingly, this is also the first Surface Two to be delivered in the world and the first Multicoat 5 system to be installed in the UK!
Key features of the Surface Two™ include:
- Multicoat 5 process control with Clarity 2 user interface.
- Data logging, plume diagnostics, real-time temperature, visual monitoring and air flow management.
- Embedded Metco IIOT Insights also allows for effortless data traceability.
For ATL, this modernises over 25 years experience with thermal coatings and improves the speed and efficiency of new part/ repair qualification.
