Our Sales Director (Barry Pratt) recently attended the ETN Workshop in Stuttgart! 🇩🇪
He enjoyed the opportunity to network with many of the ETN membership across gas turbine end-users, OEM’s, suppliers to the industry and academic institutions. He also discussed some of the trends and challenges within the industry and how jointly they can be addressed.
ETN Global is the Energy & Turbomachinery Network, ETN Global, which now has over 148 member organisations from more than 20 countries. The network collaborates in technical working groups, engine specific user groups and projects. At the Stuttgart workshop, there were around 120 attendees across the membership.
The key focus of this event was ‘driving sustainable pathways forward’ with various workshops and presentations focusing on:
– component life assessment and extensions for exiting fleets / assets, particularly with the current issues in new part supply.
– transition to hydrogen and other alternative fuels.
– carbon capture systems to support a pathway to net zero.
– additive manufacturing in the support of new / spare part supply.
An interesting take-away, was that despite the increase in renewables, there is still going to be a need for gas turbines to provide flexibility in the supply of the increasing demand for energy, albeit utilising alternative fuels such as hydrogen. etc.
We are looking for to the additional events planned for 2025!
